The Challenge
Rhode Island Energy needed to raise awareness in the state following an acquisition and accompanying rebrand. They sought to increase participation in its online ecommerce platform, Marketplace, which allows customers to purchase energy-efficient products for their homes at a discounted price.

People are looking to make smarter energy choices at home but aren’t always sure where to start. Rhode Island Energy provides specialized expertise and access to great products with instant-rebates. When you shop the Marketplace, you’re getting expert guidance, plus the most competitive pricing on the market.
The Solution
We developed a fully integrated media and marketing plan to align with the new organization’s goals. We combined video, display, paid social, and paid search to create a full-funnel media strategy that reached customers at strategic points in their journey. We also deployed a direct marketing plan using email newsletters, and flash-sale promotions to drive urgency.
The Results
During the first year of the campaign, transactions for the Rhode Island Energy Marketplace increased 71%. Over a third of those transactions were a direct result from the newly implemented email campaign. We were able to increase new user site traffic by 68% in the second year of our campaign.
