Rather than sabotaging yourself during this time by consuming junk foods and alcohol, you can change your life for the better. Fitness is proven to reduce stress, increase endorphins, and leave you feeling accomplished. There is no better time than right now to get organized and live your healthiest life.
 
Many of us become consumed by our daily tasks and forget about trying to stay fit. But now that we’re forced to slow down, we can take a deeper look at doing things we have been putting off. Too busy to prepare healthy foods? Not sure where to start with an exercise program? Not getting enough sleep? Well, stress no more! You can find tips and tricks to all of these concerns. Lucky for us, lots of free content is all over the web. It’s time to take advantage of this opportunity.
 
Rather than commuting to work, you now have time to get in a morning walk or a quick 20-minute workout. Wake up, take a deep breath, and appreciate what you have. Focus on the positives rather than the negatives. Disconnect from social media and the news. Spend your mornings wisely, and this early AM activity will leave you energized and excited to seize the day.
 
On the weekends, take the time to master your meal-prepping skills. Before heading to the store, think about lunch/dinner for the week. Choose two proteins, two carbohydrates, and two fats you can use for multiple meals. For example; chicken, ground turkey, sweet potatoes, rice, avocados, and almonds. Cook all of these items in the beginning of the week. When it’s time for lunch or dinner, you have a few different options to choose from based on your mood. Giving yourself flexibility will leave you feeling satisfied.
 
Health and fitness routines come in many different shapes and sizes. Don’t like cardio? Don’t do it. Enjoy yoga and meditation? Stick with that. The same goes for food. If you hate brussels sprouts and broccoli, don’t eat them just because they’re considered “healthy”. There are so many different foods to choose from. The key is to find moderation in all food groups. Yes, that even includes chocolate! A healthy lifestyle is meant to be enjoyed and free of stress. Tailor it to what YOU love and can maintain. These small steps will add up, and you will be able to incorporate them into your daily life, happily.
